The first few weeks of this school year have been confusing at first but now I think it’s all starting to make sense. I think I earned a 75 or an 80 this six weeks. The reason I believe I earn this grade is because I have been reading for an hour every day, writing what I need to write, and I’ve been paying attention in class.
A story about me is last year’s summer break my grandpa got a letter in the mail. The letter was a confirmation of him being in the Cherokee nation. I asked him what that meant and he told me that he was part Native American Cherokee and so was my father and I. Since then I’ve been trying to learn everything I could about that part of my ancestry. I don’t tell people about it because I don’t look like a Native American to everyone else and I don’t know many things about the culture except some of the language and the history. I remember you telling us in class that people might be talking to a Native American and they won’t even know it.
I really wanted to get better at reading informational books so I’ve been reading an informational book on animation so that I’m reading about what I love but it’s full of informational help. I have been reading everyday which is a big improvement because I really only read when I was told to in class but now I’m doing it everyday without being told. I really want this next six weeks to go smoothly but I do have my doubts with people going back to school this next six weeks and the schedule is changing.
In conclusion, I have been improving my reading and writing skills. I do still need to improve on breakout rooms because I want to talk more on my own without anyone telling me to. That is why I think I earn a 75 or an 80 this six weeks.
